Home for the Holidays? How to Plan a Dental Visit in Beirut

Visiting family in Lebanon? How to plan dental treatment around a trip home: what to do before you fly and how many visits each treatment needs.

If you live abroad and come home to Lebanon for the holidays, it can be the one time of year you can fit in dental work. It can also be a short, busy trip, where every day is already promised to family. A little planning before you fly makes the difference between a treatment that fits your trip and one that does not.

Start before you travel

You do not have to wait until you land. Send a few clear photos of your smile, or a recent X-ray, on WhatsApp, and tell us your dates. Our team can recommend what might suit you, tell you how many visits it would take and give you an estimate, so that you arrive with a plan and not a question. It is confirmed once you have been examined in person. How to Send a Photo of Your Smile shows which photos help.

How long each treatment takes

These are typical stays. Your own plan tells you exactly how many visits your treatment needs.

Treatment Typical stay
Porcelain veneers 5 to 7 days, across two visits
Composite bonding A single day
Teeth whitening A single day
Dental implants Two trips: a short visit to place the implant, then a second visit, 3 to 6 months later, for the final crown
Root canal treatment Usually one or two visits

If you are not sure which treatment suits you, Veneers, Bonding or Clear Aligners can help you narrow it down. For clear aligners, which run for months, ask how check-ups work while you are abroad.

Ask early

Holiday weeks tend to fill up in most clinics, and a family trip has fixed dates, so the earlier you write, the more choice you have. Mineers is in Sodeco Square, Achrafieh, and is open Monday to Saturday from 08:00 to 22:30 and Sunday from 08:00 to 20:00. Check the opening hours for public holidays when you book.

What to bring

  • Recent X-rays, and any records of past dental work.
  • A list of your medicines, and any allergies.
  • Details of any implants you already have, if you can find them.
  • A photo of your smile as it is now, and a few of the smiles you like.
  • Your questions. Write them down. It is easy to forget them in the chair.

Leave room in the schedule

Plan a day or two of margin around your treatment, and avoid booking a flight immediately after a procedure. With veneers, the days between your appointments are free for you (What to Eat After Porcelain Veneers has some practical advice). With implants, the healing happens over months, so the surgery visit is short and the time in between is spent at home. Languages

Consultations are held in Arabic and English. Dr. Milena Ilieva also speaks Bulgarian and German.

After you fly home

Veneers and implants include a follow-up window, and the clinic stays a message away on WhatsApp or by email. At home, keep up your daily care and routine check-ups with a local dentist, and bring your records. For implants, How to Maintain Dental Implants Long-Term explains what to do between visits.

The simplest plan

  1. Send photos or an X-ray, and your dates, on WhatsApp.
  2. Receive a first view, and decide.
  3. Book a consultation for the first days of your stay.
  4. Leave a margin, and plan the rest around it.
